BYD asciende al nº143 en la lista Fortune Global 500 de 2024
BYD, líder mundial en vehículos de nueva energía y baterías eléctricas, ha dado un gran salto en la lista Fortune Global 500, ocupando el puesto 143, mejorando desde la posición 212 del año pasado. Este es el tercer año consecutivo que BYD figura en esta lista, consolidándose como la marca de más rápido crecimiento en la industria automotriz.
En 2023, BYD logró un éxito sin precedentes, alcanzando ingresos anuales de 602.320 millones de yuanes, un aumento del 42% interanual. La empresa también estableció un récord al vender más de 3 millones de vehículos de nuevas energías (NEV) durante el año, posicionándose entre las diez marcas de automóviles más vendidas a nivel mundial, un hito histórico para un fabricante chino.
BYD ha mantenido su éxito en 2024, con más de 1,9 millones de unidades vendidas entre enero y julio, ocupando el octavo lugar entre las marcas de automóviles más vendidas a nivel global en el primer semestre del año. La expansión internacional de BYD se ha acelerado, con ventas en mercados extranjeros que superaron las 233.000 unidades en el último mes. Además, el 4 de julio de 2024, BYD inició oficialmente la producción en su fábrica en Tailandia, marcando la salida de su NEV número 8 millones. Actualmente, BYD está presente en 88 países y regiones, con bases de producción en Brasil, Hungría y Uzbekistán.
Estos logros se deben al fuerte compromiso de BYD con la innovación tecnológica. En 2023, la empresa invirtió casi 40.000 millones de yuanes en investigación y desarrollo (I+D), un aumento del 97% respecto al año anterior, acumulando una inversión total de 140.000 millones de yuanes. Hasta la fecha, BYD ha solicitado más de 48.000 patentes a nivel mundial, de las cuales más de 30.000 han sido concedidas. Con más de 100.000 empleados dedicados a I+D, BYD sigue liderando el avance en el sector de las nuevas energías.
