La marca sueca se convierte en el primer fabricante de automóviles en firmar un acuerdo de suministro para acero reciclado con emisiones casi nulas
Volvo Cars, representada por Astara en Colombia, acaba de marcar un hito en la movilidad sostenible: un acuerdo pionero con la siderúrgica sueca SSAB para el suministro de acero reciclado con emisiones casi nulas a partir de 2025.
🔹 ¿Por qué es revolucionario este acuerdo?
✅ Primer fabricante automotriz en adoptar acero reciclado de SSAB para producción en serie.
✅ Reducción del 100% de emisiones de CO₂ en comparación con el acero tradicional.
✅ Circuito cerrado: Reciclaje de chatarra para maximizar la vida útil del material.
🔹 Impacto en la producción de Volvo
- El acero representa el 25% de las emisiones en la fabricación de sus vehículos.
- Primeros modelos en usarlo: El nuevo SUV EX60 eléctrico y futuros vehículos basados en la plataforma SPA3.
- Mismas garantías de seguridad: Resistencia y durabilidad equivalentes al acero convencional.

- 65-75% menos emisiones por auto vs. 2018.
